Everything starts from a question. If it is indeed a true story, why I never heard it discussed on television or in newspapers? Why do I never see the captain or Wenny Kathe Smith appeared on TV and talk about his experience? Is it possible to squirt and I rarely watch television?

So I opened google and typed in the word Wenny Kathe, trying to find this story on the Discovery or National Geographic, or at least in one other foreign media. When I typed the name, google search found 3510 results. Oh My God, this must be a real story!

But wait ... there are odd. All search results that emerged was a story in Indonesian language. I click on the search results until the last page of google and found only two English-language blog and a blog speak Melayu (Malaysia or Brunei can) to discuss this story. I did not find this story covered on the Discovery or any other foreign media. There Is Something Wrong!

After I checked these two English-language blogs, it turns out one of them made by the people of Indonesia. So stay one more blog named theuniquenews.blogspot.com who posted this story in February 2007. And I believe this is the first blog contains this story on the internet. Melayu-speaking blogs which also includes the story named kebenarannya.tripod.com. There is no date or month information he posted this story.

As I've said before, I find this story with Indonesian sentence exactly the same in all blogs and web I could find on google, and almost all the blogs that copy and paste this story does not mention the source. So, at first I was having trouble finding the initial source of this story (in the Indonesian media).

But finally I found and I believe (although I'm also not strong evidence) that the web who first popularized this story in Indonesia is rileks.com who post them on June 7, 2008. Maybe rileks.com translate from uniquenews.blogspot.com or blog kebenarannya.tripod.com.

First, I read this story and try to understand it. Then, I discovered some irregularities or inaccuracies which I find quite disturbing.

For example, Captain Smith was supposed to be 141 years old in 1991, not 139 years old. Then mentioned that captain Smith's identity was verified by fingerprint records stored in the shipping records. My doubt that the year 1912, shipping records are already using fingerprints to record crew.

Then in the second paragraph, mentioned that Wenny Kathe rescued from the iceberg, while in the fourth paragraph states that the Wenny rescued from the lumps of ice. Mount with lumps of ice, of course different.

Then, perhaps most disturbing is the contradiction in the sentence in that story.

The story above is associated with the passage of time because the phenomenon is called:

"Captain Smith that although the 139-year-old, but still looked like a man 60 years old, and even he still thinks that the time was the period surrounding the sinking of the Titanic on 15 April 1912"

But the theory of the hall itself is broken by the sentence which reads:

Yes, I am increasingly convinced that this story is a hoax. But, as I often say. A story can not be called a hoax without firm evidence. I feel have yet to find evidence that would convince you readers that this story is just imagination. Anyway, I know that blog readers are the people enigma critical and jelly (this is evident from the comments you guys).

Some say that to know the truth of an event, we have to be directly at the scene. But, I do not think so. I do not need to exist in Haiti to know that a large earthquake occurred there a few days ago. To find out the truth of an event, we need only find evidence based on "common sense" could be called evidence. And I think the Internet can be one of the ingredients.

As I said, there is something wrong. Wenny Kathe name could not be found anywhere on the web English in addition to two blogs that I have alluded to earlier. So I decided to focus on this name. After all, he's our main character?

But how? Is not this name is not found in the foreign media sources?

Problem captain Smith, we all know that he is not tokof fictitious. Captain Edward John Smith was the captain of the Titanic.

Now, I've got one fact. Because the name Wenny Kathe is a fictional character, I can no longer use that keyword in google. Then, I experimented with several keywords and I finally found a clue that might become strong and conclusive evidence to convince you that this story was a hoax.

I found this magazine in google books archives. This edition of the magazine's cover in June 1992.
